WCEF2022

World Circular Economy Forum 2022 - African Circular Economy Network

World Circular Economy Forum

The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) will be held, for the first time, in the global south in Kigali, Rwanda, on 6 to 8 December 2022. The African Circular Economy Network (ACEN) is co-hosting the forum alongside the African Circular Economy Alliance (ACEA), the Republic of Rwanda, The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, and other international partners.

WCEF is an annual global collaboration forum that has been held six times since its launch in 2017. The forum, previously hosted in Asia (Japan), Europe (Finland and Netherlands) and North America (Canada), will now make its first appearance on African soil.

Due to the main forum being an invite-only event with a capacity of 400 participants, satellite studios will take place across the globe extending the reach and the opportunity to participate. African Studios, organised by ACEN, will take place in several cities across the continent with a capacity of up to 100 participants per studio. Global Studios can take place in any city and are organised by individuals or organisations voluntarily.

The WCEF Side Events are a WCEF concept that allows organisers to register their circular economy events as side events throughout the year to present solutions from around the globe and attract an international audience. To register your event, complete this application form

ACEN is hosting a series of online
Preparatory African Workshops with the theme Circularity in Africa based on the African Circular Economy Alliance’s (ACEA) five big bets: Fashion and Textiles, Food Systems, Electronics, Packaging and the Built Environment. These workshops will take place over five months: July - November, leading up to the main Forum in December.
